5
to 6 year olds
Kindergarteners
would have mastered their basic motor and self-help
skills and become more confident to further explorations
and challenges. They love fun and jokes but are sensitive
as to how they are being treated such as being embarrassed
or wronged. They understand classroom guidelines and activity
rules, have longer attention span and better self-control,
and are better able to meet the expectations.
Our
curriculum for these kindergarteners revolves around
language development, early math and science concepts,
computer skills, creative arts and music expression,
as well as physical and socio-emotional development.
Learning materials are more complex and cognitively
challenging, but neither too difficulty nor too easy
to help the individual children build self esteem,
and maintain interest and success in their learning.
Children’s
literatures are carefully selected to discuss
moral issues and promote reflective thinking. This
allows the children to regulate thir behaviors
to build mutual respect for them to engage in pro-socio
behaviors such as practicing kindness, helping
others, and having the ability to share and co-operate. |
