3 to 4 year olds

Nursery children are full of energy and enthusiasm as they are gaining more skills and competencies. They begin to learn how to share, take turns and co-operate with other people in recognition of their feelings and emotions.

The three-year-olds are beginning to pretend play and practice their growing language skills. They love to explore sensory materials and do many things on their own. Hence many types of sensory materials like open-ended art media are provided for their exploration, drama props for their pretend play and simple field trips are conducted to enhance their learning experience. The threes are only able to handle one thing at a time and need lots of encouragement, praises and hugs.

The four-year-olds are in a constant state of motion, very active, curious and inquisitive. As such, our curriculums for the fours include many hands-on activities and transition activities, with relaxation breaks in between. Socio-dramatic play props, children’s literature, musical instruments, inquiry materials, creative art materials, play equipment and other like materials are facilitated for their active exploration, as well as enhancing their knowledge, language, imagination, creativity, physical and social skills.     

Our teachers will set guidelines and provide feedback to children by using complimentary words whenever positive behaviors are noted or verbally remind the children of the consequences of their negative behaviors.
